Womens Section
After a long period of not having a womens rep, Humberside have finally recruited a new FBU Womens rep. Trish Jeffery based at North Hull Blue Watch has been appointed by the Brigade Committee and is already starting to get organised. Trish has arranged for a meeting to take place for all women FBU members from within HFRS. The meeting will be held at the ‘Old mill’ Barton on the 25th September 2007 at 19.00 hrs. A guest speaker has also been invited from the National Womens Committee.
Please make every effort to attend
Meeting 25th September
The first meeting of the Humberside Womens Section took place last week at Barton. The meeting was a huge success with those attending stating how good it was to meet other women members from within the Brigade. The meeting was also attended by the National Womens Committee Secretary Kerry Baigent who gave advice and guidance to the newly formed section. The meeting was very informal with a whole range of issues raised and discussed from facilities to clothing to PPE.
The Womens Section have planned to meet up again in a couple of months time and would once again ask women FBU members of HFRS to come along to meet the other the members. Dont worry if you cant get a babysitter - bring the kids with you. Details of the date and time of the next meeting will be promulgated as soon as they have been confirmed.
Trish Jeffery appointed ‘Acting’ Regional Womens rep
Trish Jeffery, Humberside’s Womens rep has been appointed ‘Acting’ Regional Womens rep. It’s the first time in several years that region 4 has had a womens rep. We all wish Trish well in her additional role.
